Re: Teacher Annette Bright Leave of Absence.

Greetings Parents. 

This letter is to officially inform you that Mrs. Annette Bright will be on a Leave of Absence. Her current anticipated return date is when we resume school following the Easter Holidays (April 28). If that changes in any way I will be certain to keep you informed. 

I am also very pleased to announce that we have hired a replacement teacher on a temporary contract to fill in for Mrs. Bright. Her name is Mrs. Chandra Gold. I am sure that you and your children will really enjoy meeting her, that she will do an excellent job in Mrs. Bright’s place, and that the transitions will be both smooth and pleasant. 

Please read Chandra’s message to you below on the next page and I hope that you will take the earliest opportunity to meet together, get to know each other, and keep things rolling along in service of your child’s education… I fully expect that Chandra will ‘jump right in’ and keep the collaborative and relational style of WAS alive and well over these next months.

Dear Parents and Fellow Educators,  

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Chandra Gold (pronounced Shawndra), and I will be covering for Anette for the next couple of months. I have been a resident of Welling since 2010, originally hailing from northern British Columbia. My husband, Bruce, and I are both experienced educators; he currently teaches at Riverside Hutterite Colony.  

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and have a diverse range of teaching experience. Prior to joining Westwind as an Educational Assistant in 2019 and later as a teacher, I homeschooled my four children for six years, covering the K-6 curriculum. I am eager to connect with both you and your children in this new role.  

Beyond my professional life, I enjoy various activities such as working on building projects with my husband, gardening, hiking, and kayaking. I have a daughter and three sons, aged 20 to 25, who currently reside in Calgary, Utah, and Florida. I am also grateful for my wonderful son-in-law and two grandsons.
